Flight Data Services launch Express Readout – the first ever web-based FDR readout

16th October 2015

Flight Data Services (FDS) haved launched 'Express Readout' to the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) readout market. The FDR readout is a mandatory requirement for all aircraft equipped with recorders, and industry regulations require that a periodic check is performed to ensure that the FDR is recording all parameters correctly. Currently this is undertaken by a manual process that takes days to produce results, at a cost ranging from £500-£1600. Express Readout uses Flight Data Services’ patented processes to provide a unique system which will revolutionise the way an FDR Readout is performed.

Express Readout will mean less time on the ground for aircraft maintenance and more time in operation, reducing costs and saving money. The simple web-based solution delivers results in minutes, providing a more accurate and repeatable readout which meets or exceeds regulatory requirements. Flight Data Services’ specialists have eliminated the need for routine manual intervention, thereby reducing the risk of human error, whilst providing rapid results at less than half the cost of a conventional readout.

Dave Jesse, Flight Data Services CEO said “Express Readout is the end result of five years of development and more than ten man years of work. The launch of the Express Readout product represents a significant milestone for Flight Data Services because it brings our expert knowledge in flight data and information technology to the aircraft maintenance marketplace”
